Detney, also known as Destiny Moua (age 22) is a rising Hmong American Artist from North Carolina. I met her back in Winter of ‘24 in Eau Claire for our first show together called, “Heatwave in December.” (Hosted by 35K records.) And I was amazed at her ICONIC FIT! Her aura. She was so kind and humble. And her sound was something new, and unexpected. I remember hearing her perform, “in a heartbeat,” for the first time and thinking, “I need to know who this girl is.” I’ve gotten to share the stage with her, do music and direct on set with her and today I get to dive in deep with all of you to learn the origin of Detney. Singer, rapper, and songwriter, some of you may recognize her from her debut at the North Carolina Hmong Music Festival or the Hmong 50th Festival Celebration at the Minnesota State Capitol this past summer. But now, she's got a new project on the way and we're here to learn a thing or two from the 'COPYCAT' icon herself.
