Detney , also known as Destiny Moua (age 22) is a rising Hmong American Artist from North Carolina. I met her back in Winter of ‘24 in Eau Claire for our first show together called, “Heatwave in December.” (Hosted by 35K records.) And I was amazed at her ICONIC FIT! Her aura. She was so kind and humble. And her sound was something new, and unexpected. I remember hearing her perform, “in a heartbeat,” for the first time and thinking, “I need to know who this girl is.” I’ve gotten to share the stage with her, do music and direct on set with her and today I get to dive in deep with all of you to learn the origin of Detney. No. 2 | Introducing: Ninaco

Today, I'm breaking down my alter-ego:  Ninaco . In the middle of my photography journey, I realized a lot of my passion stemmed from desire. And that was my desire to become:  A POPSTAR . But I needed to practice on other people and that's what I did.  For six years, I shot as many music videos and had as many Artist photoshoots as I could. Trying to understand camera angles, editing styles and color grading. I had a lot of fun but I also had a lot of resentment towards myself. ...

And I moved to Los Angeles, California, 4 years ago to chase my dreams.  From an early age I knew I wanted to create. At first I fell in love with music, but then I realized I also really loved taking pictures of my siblings. And that stimulated me to unapologetically keep capturing, even when nobody asked. But sometimes it's hard to do what makes sense to us, because we have so much fear and doubt. And most of the time, we don't have the support we desire until we prove we're worthy of it or until we blow up! And the idea of doing the unknown and answering those, " What if? " questions were all we could think about. However, what felt lonely in the beginning, as one of the few Hmong Female Photographers and Videographers in the game, made me realize that this was the r...
